Monday Ratings: The Return of ‘9-1-1’ and ‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ Leads Fox to Victory

Monday 4/19/21 Preliminary Primetime Ratings
Total Viewers:
Fox: 5.65 million; NBC: 5.01, CBS: 4.18; ABC: 4.07, CW: 555,000
Adults 18-49:
Fox: 0.9 rating/6 share, NBC: 0.7/ 5, ABC: 0.5/ 4, CBS: 0.5/ 3, CW: 0.2/ 1
Fox’s fast affiliate ratings victory was a result of the spring returns of dramas “9-1-1” (Viewers: #2, 5.92 million; A18-49: #1 for the night: 1.0 rating/7 share) and spin-off “9-1-1: Lone Star” (Viewers: #2, 5.39 million; A18-49: #2, 0.8/ 5) from 8-10 p.m. Needless to say, the compatibility is flawless.
At 6.23 million viewers, NBC’s “The Voice” was the most-watched show of this third Monday in April, with a 2.14 million advantage over competing “American Idol” on ABC (4.09 million). “The Voice” also held an advantage in adults 18-49 (0.8/ 5 vs. 0.6/ 4). Chances of more viewers tuning in next fall to see new coach Ariana Grande on “The Voice” is likely.
In the battle of the three Monday 10 p.m. scripted dramas, CBS’ already renewed “Bull” was tops at a still unimpressive 4.55 million viewers. Next was ABC’s “The Good Doctor” (4.03 million), followed by recent entry “Debris” on NBC (2.57 million). But “The Good Doctor” was first in the demo, with a 0.5/ 3 (and versus a 0.4/ 3 each for “Bull” and “Debris”). The moral of this diluted story: These lead-ins to the local late news across the country are all lacking.
Elsewhere, CBS would be wise to pass on a third season of legal drama “All Rise” (Viewers: 3.15 million; A18-49: 0.4/ 2 — fourth in both categories at 9 p.m.). Lead-in Eye net comedies “The Neighborhood” (Viewers: #3, 4.96 million; A18-49: #3, 0.7/ 4) and “Bob Hearts Abishola” (Viewers: #3, 4.73 million; A18-49: #3t, 0.5/ 3) were at typical Monday 8-9 p.m. ET fast affiliate levels.
CW dramas “All American” (Viewers: 683,000; A18-49: 0.2/ 1) and “Black Lightning” (Viewers: 426,000; A18-49: 0.1/ 1) remained deeply buried in fifth place from 8-10 p.m.
