From Campaign US: As you read this, a small horde of TV executives, dizzy from screening pilot episodes, are gathered in a conference room somewhere in Midtown Manhattan staring at a large scheduling board and a handful of erasable markers. Their job is to figure out where, or if, these new series belong on the schedule, all the while trying to anticipate what the competition might do. It’s like playing chess with an invisible partner and game pieces that may or may not fall apart halfway through the match.
