Total Viewers:
CBS: 5.44 million, NBC: 3.52, ABC: 2.79, Fox: 1.42, CW: 633,000
Adults 18-49:
CBS and NBC: 0.5 rating/ share each, ABC: 0.4/ 3, Fox: 0.3/ 2, CW: 0.1/ 1
CBS got a boost thanks to “Young Sheldon”, which led the evening with a season high 7.41 million viewers in the Thursday 8 p.m. ET half-hour (and an also dominant 0.7 rating/5 share in adults 18-49). That led into sophomore “United States of Al” with had respectable retention at 5.34 million viewers and a 0.5/ 4 — first in both categories — at 8:30 p.m. Freshman “Ghosts” rose to an also first-place 6.27 million viewers and a 0.6/ 4 in adults 18-49 (tied with NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU”) at 9 p.m., which makes it a bona fide hit. And that led into sophomore “B Positive” at 4.79 million viewers (#1) and a 0.5/ 3 in the demo (#2) at 9:30 p.m. The prognosis: This comedy line-up is worth maintaining next season.
At 10 p.m. on the Eye net, “Bull” led the hour in total viewers but tied for second (with ABC’s non-scripted “Let the World See”) in adults 18-49, with a 0.4/ 3.
Earlier in the evening was episode two of ABC’s limited series “Women of the Movement” at 2.93 million viewers (#3) and a 0.4/ 3 in the demo (#3) from 8-10 p.m.
In time period premiere news were Fox Thursday comedies “Call Me Kat” (Viewers: #4, 1.52 million; A18-49: #4, 0.3/ 2 at 9 p.m.) and week two of “Pivoting” (Viewers: #4, 987,000; A18-49: #4, 0.2/ 2 at 9:30 p.m.), which experienced significant erosion from an already lackluster lead-in. They aired following the reboot of dating-themed “Joe Millionaire” (Viewers: #4, 1.59 million; A18-49: #4, 0.3/ 2 from 8-9 p.m.), which was obviously not necessary.
Elsewhere, NBC had a typical Thursday care of its drama line-up as follows:
NBC/Thursday
8:00 p.m. “The Blacklist”
Viewers: 3.28 million (#2); A18-49: 0.4/ 3 (#2t)
9:00 p.m. “Law & Order: SVU”
Viewers: 4.10 million (#2); A18-49: 0.6/ 5 (#1)
10:00 p.m. “Law & Order: Organized”
Viewers: 3.17 million (#2); A18-49: 0.5/ 4 (#2)
And The CW featured “Walker” (Viewers: #5, 994,000; A18-49: #5, 0.1/ 1 at 8 p.m.), which is the network’s most-watched show, and an encore telecast of “Legacies.”
