On the heels of the upcoming final season of “How to Get Away With Murder” comes word that Viola Davis will portray Michelle Obama in upcoming Showtime drama “First Ladies.” The premium anthology drama, to be written by novelist Aaron Cooley, will explore the public and private lives of first ladies throughout American history. In addition to Obama, the first season will feature Eleanor Roosevelt and Betty Ford, both of whom have yet to be cast.
The actress and her husband, Julius Tennon, are among the executive producers of “First Ladies,” which will appear under their JuVee Productions banner.
